New Product: ECO Controller
for KABUKI G2 Curtain Drop
Same dramatic impact, simpler operation and lower cost! Gerriets developed the ECO Controller to provide a basic option for triggering as many as ten G2 release units. Our G-FRAME controller remains the top-of-the-line choice for larger-scale curtain-drop applications. See more KABUKI info.

Just Installed: La Maison Symphonique de Montréal
The curved walls of Montreal's new symphony hall are outfitted with retractable acoustic drapery; 2,500 feet of Gerriets TRUMPF 95 track and 56 FRICTION-DRIVE motors are incorporated into the woodwork on all five levels, withdrawing the curtains completely from view when not in use. Go to TRUMPF product info.

Just Installed:
Chazen Art Museum
Designed by Petra Blaisse of Inside Outside and fabricated and installed by Gerriets, the curtain in the museum's new two-story glass-walled lobby is itself a work of art. An intricate construction of laser-cut felt, digitally printed voile, and silver scrim, it coils into an internally lit column for storage. (See open curtain in slide show, above.)

Just Installed: Cornell University
Two Gerriets-made draperies grace the new Milstein Hall at the College of Architecture, Art and Planning. Designed by Petra Blaisse of Inside Outside, both curtains integrate grommeting into complex graphic patterns; in the auditorium, this creates a pinpoint lighting effect and the curtain operates on FRICTION-DRIVE motorized track.

Industry Award: G-QUICK wins PLASA Innovation Award
G-QUICK is Gerriets' ingenious new device for hanging drapes. The patented G-QUICK replaces tie lines for attaching grommeted soft goods to pipe battens, making it possible to install and strike drapery 3 to 4 times faster than by conventional methods. Go to G-QUICK product info.

New Product:
EVEN Projection Screen
Need the same image brightness on both sides of a projection surface? You got it! Our new EVEN front and rear projection screen offers nearly identical luminance distribution in both front and rear projection applications. Go to EVEN product info

New Product: CARGO Heavy-Duty Track Systems
CARGO enables smooth, precise maneuvering of scenery elements up to 2,640 lbs! This amazing system made for a big moment in a recent Metropolitan Opera production, when the entire set lifted away to reveal a lower level. Pictured here: CARGO XL slides and tilts huge panels, Berlin Staatsoper, 2010. Go to CARGO product info.

New Product:
OPTIBLACK Projection Screen
An industry standout for its nearly black surface, OPTIBLACK is great for edge-
blending projection, with excellent color contrast and color rendition for video, slide, or motion picture projection. Absolutely no hot-spotting!
OPTIBLACK's very dark color makes it unobtrusive when not in use. Go to OPTIBLACK product info.

Portfolio Highlight: Second Baptist Church of Houston
How to integrate high-impact video into the church's traditional interior? Three 50-foot-wide Gerriets MEGASCREENS. Synched with the lighting system, the screens transform the room into a vast projection surface. Then they retract into the ceiling leaving unobstructed views of cherished architectural features. MEGASCREEN product info

Portfolio Highlight:
Seattle Opera
Gerriets scrim walls and backdrops were key elements of Seattle Opera's complex time- and space-layering sets for its 2009 world-premiere "Amelia." In 2010-11, "Lucia di Lammermoor" and "Tristan und Isolde" feature Gerriets scrims, drops, and flooring. At left: painted seamless muslin backdrops for "Tales of Hoffman" (2004).
